Ludicrous or Ridiculous?

Let us file this one in the
"With Friends Like This..."
file.  The rapper known as
Ludacris has released a
new song on politics.  In it,
he trashes Seantors Hillary
Clinton and John McCain,
as well as President George
W. Bush.  Some of the lyrics
are very offensive and need
no repeating.

Ludacris is a supporter of
Senator Barack Obama's cam-
paign for the presidency.  He
had apparently met with the
candidate back in the fall of
2006.  Obama had remarked
following the meeting that he
found Ludicrous to be a very
sharp businessman.

After the song and it's offensive
lyrics came out, the Obama
campaign issued a statement
that the senator finds rap and
hip-hop music generally de-
grading of women and that he
would not allow his daughters
to listen to such.  Hmmm!

So can we safely say that
Obama has had to throw yet
another supporter of his under
the campaign bus?  It sure
does look that way.  I've sort
of lost count on how many have
suffered this fate.  I think we
are getting into the double
digits now.  Who may be next?

Another rapper, known as "T.I.",
could be next on the victim
list.  He is another public sup-
porter of the Obama candidacy.
In fact, "T.I." is so politically
astute (smirk) that he was
named the spokesman for the
Hip-Hop Caucus voter campaign,
"Respect My Vote".

There is just one ittsy-bittsy,
teeny-weeny problem.  "T.I."
CAN NOT VOTE!  Hahaha!
The rapper was recently ar-
rested for a gun charge and
will be sentenced shortly on
a felony conviction.  His
right to vote has been strip-
ped away, so he will not be
able to cast a ballot for his
candidate, Barack Obama
this November.  LOL!

So, let us review.  Obama
has many friends.  Or should
I say, former acquaintances?
His pastor of 20 years, the
Reverend Jeremiah Wright,
was throw under the bus
after his radical views came
to the public's attention.
Antoin "Tony" Rezko, a
Chicago-area developer whom
Obama has known for some
18 years is now serving a
length sentence for 16 Federal
felony acts involving fraud, etc.

We have Bill Ayers, a former
member of the domestic ter-
rorist group, The Weathermen,
whom Obama has known for
over 10 years and whom helped
Obama launch his political ca-
reer.  We have Jody Evans
who is a major fund raiser for
Obama and supports eco-
terror groups like Earth Liber-
ation Front and hand-delivered
$600,000 in cash and supplies
to the Al Sadr militia in Fulujah,
Iraq during the height of the
fighting in 2006.

And who can forget Aiham
Alsammarae, the former Iraqi
Minister of Electricity, who
had escaped from an Iraqi
prison just days after Obama's
senate office helped his family
learn where he was being held.
Alsammarae, as you may recall,
was convicted of corruption
charges involing some $2 Bil-
lion dollars in reconstruction
money, some of which was
contracted to companies with
ties to Tony Rezko and his
money-master, Saddam
Hussien's old financial wizard,
Nadhmi Auchi.  Alsammarae
turned up in Chicago, of all
places, after his escape, and
has made six contributions to
Obama's campaign, as well as
having put up $2.7 million dol-
lars of the $8.5 million bail
bond for Rezko.

Speaking of Auchi, who had
been convicted of the largest
public fraud case in European
history in France, and is very
deeply involved in the various
Rezko-Balgojevich-Obama
corruption schemes, including
Chicago's $2.5 Billion dollar
Riverside Park project.  As
part of the Illinois Combine,
a group of public officials and
businessmen uncovered in
the Federal investigation known
as Operation Boardgames,
Auchi was one of many who
have been either convicted or
still under investigation on
The Combine schemes to de-
fraud the people of Illinois.
In particular, their primary target
was the lucrative Illinois Teach-
ers Pension Fund with it's fat
bank roll of some $40 Billion
dollars, just crying out to be
looted!

There are many other "friends'
of Obama I have not mentioned.
Like Father Pfleger, Obama's
new pastor, and of course, the
Old Guard of radical Chicago
politics, Jesse Jackson and
Louis Farrahkan.  Add to that
people like Obama's former
foreign policy advisor, Prof.
Samantha Powers, one has
to ask, with friends like these
does Obama need any 'real'
enemies?  While the Far-Left
likes to attack Rush Limbaugh
and Sean Hannity for their
daily dose of anti-Obama com-
ments, if people just look at
what Obama's friends say and
do, including his wife, they'll
find plenty to make them won-
der and scratch their heads.

Barack Blows-off Bagram

There is an email floating
about in cyberspace.  How
true it is I cannot say.  It
allegedly comes from a
Captain Jeffrey S. Porter
of TaskForce Wasatch,
stationed in Afghanistan.

His account of Obama's
visit is interesting, given
the reports from the Main
Stream Media.  According
to Capt. Porter, upon arrival,
Obama was quickly scur-
ried into a bullet-proof vehi-
cle.  His first stop was to
meet a two-star general.

Troops had lined the en-
trance to the conference
tent.  Obama did not stop
to shake any hands or
greet anyone.  He just
strolled past the troops in-
to the tent.  After a short
visit, he then went to a
larger tent, known as the
"Clam Shell", which has
a basketball court and
weight-lifting equipment.
This is where he had the
publicity photos taken
which were shown earlier
in the week.  Again, he
did not interact with any
of the troops who were
waiting outside the Clam
Shell.

One hour after landing,
Obama was back onboard
his plane and flying off to
his next destination. Capt.
Porter does not know of a
single soldier Obama had
thanked for their service.
He seems pretty miffed
that Obama used them as
a publicity prop.

While in Germany, Obama
had cancelled plans to visit
with U.S. troops there, after
the Pentagon informed his
staff that no media would be
allowed to follow him on the
base.  Apparently, someone
there wised up and did not
want a repeat of cheap cam-
paign tricks like Obama
used is Afghanistan.  He had
already pulled a good trick in
Berlin, holding his speech
at the same location where
two rock bands were giving
free concerts, thus having a
ready-made crowd.  And
his pals in the MSM were
hyping and cheering all the
way.

Meanwhile, John McCain is
actually having a decent
week.  He started FINALLY
taking up the fight, and he
met the Dahli Lama, too.
But the best news for him
is a series of new polls that
show the race tightening,
especially in key battle-
ground states.  Despite
the best efforts of the MSM
to ignore and belittle McCain,
he's still has a pretty fair
chance of winning.

Democrats Speculate On Future

Democrats, today, in both
the House and Senate are
attempting to pass new regu-
lations to curb speculation
in the oil futures market.
Many, including myself, see
such speculation as one of
the causes of the current
spike in oil prices.  However,
unlike myself, the Democrats
seem to think that should we
Americans add more regula-
tions on futures trading, the
price of oil will magically fall.

What I find most amusing
about their course of action
is they are the same bunch
who regularly are against us
taking unilateral actions in
the world.  And futures trad-
ing is a Global Market.

After the collapse of Enron,
laws were changed here on
trading in commodities.  The
end result is that America is
no longer the center of com-
modities trading, London is!
The boys from Enron moved
to England!

Should Congress pass more
laws now, the effect will be
negligible.  The price of oil
declined this week more from
the two news events, first with
President Bush recending exe-
cutive orders preventing off-
shore drilling, and what may be
an easing of tensions with the
Iranians.  Republicans are at-
tempting to combine new regu-
lations on the futures market
with allowing more drilling, but
the Democrats are still chant-
ing, "We cannot drill our way
out of this problem."

Any new regulations on the
futures exchanges MUST be
International!  Otherwise, the
traders will just pull up stakes
and move to a friendlier place
to do business.  The effect of
the current legislation would
only make matters worse.
It would drive investment capi-
tal away from America.

Our financial markets are
having a hard enough time
as it is.  A memo recently
released by Senator Charles
Schumer caused a run on
Indymac Bank.  The solven-
cy of many banks are now
being questioned.  The Feder-
al Reserve had been making
moves in shoring up many
lending institutions hit hard
by the mortgage bubble.

Shumer's letter of June 26
was leaked and caused a
run by it's depositors of
some $1.3 billion dollars in
just 11 days.  The Office of
Thrift Supervision stepped
in to shut Indymac down
and stated in a press re-
lease that, "The immediate
cause of the closing was
a deposit run that begun
and continued after the
public release of a June
26 letter to the OTS and
the FDIC from Senator
Charles Schumer of New
York."  Schumer, of course,
denies ant responsibility.

Schumer, not satisfied with
helping to spread doom
and gloom in the economy
by crashing banks, was the
lead speokesman for the
Senate's Democratic press
conference on the futures
regulations.  Schumer con-
tinued to beat the drum,
"We cannot drill our way
out of this problem."

This, despite all the facts
that show:  A) the American
people WANT MORE DRIL-
LING!!!, B) the argument of
"..it won't help for 10 years",
after being expanded to 30
years, has been scaled back
to 5 years is STILL A LIE!
Depending on where the new
drilling takes place, oil can
be pumped anywhere from
2 months to 3 years tops,
with the average being closer
to 1 year.  As pointed out
here before, many locations
do not even require drilling!
Gull Island, Alaska already
has 3 wells drilled that were
capped in the mid-1970s.
An estimated million bar-
rels a day can start to flow
within one year.

Every election cycle, the
Democrats want the eco-
nomy to look bad, as they
believe it will help get them
elected.  They will even add
fuel to the fire, as when
Schmuer wrote to Federal
agencies, "...(Indymac) may
have serious problems with
it's current loan holdings,
and could face a failure if
prescriptive measures are
not taken quickly."  The
very next day, his letter had
found it's way to the friendly
media and was made public.

Since taking back both
houses of Congress in
2006, the economy has
declined under the Dems.
Unemployment has risen
from 4.5% to 5.5%. Infla-
tion has gone from prac-
tically zero annually to
1.1% in the month of
June alone!  GNP is bare-
ly 1% after consecutive
years of 4+% growth.
The media and Dems
may chant that this is
the "Bush recession",
but the facts show other-
wise.  What changed
after 2006?  It wasn't
George W. Bush!!!  Had
the Congress accepted
Bush's energy program,
we would not be in the
pickle we're in now.

Economy In Turmoil?

I was watching MSNBC this
morning and during a discus-
sion of the U.S. economy
and the recent comments of
former Senator Phil Graham,
the subject text on the bot-
tom of the screen read,
"ECONOMY IN TURMOIL".

Webster defines "turmoil" as:
1) a state or condition of ex-
treme confusion, agitation, or
commotion.  But I think the
#2 definition is more appro-
priate in this context: "To
harass with commotion; to
disquiet; to worry."  It is the
Main Stream Media, such as
MSNBC, which is causing
the economic turmoil.  They
are the ones who bombard
us daily with harassing re-
ports about how bad things
are.  They are the ones who
gleefully attempt to disquiet
the American public with end-
less stories about recession.
To cause us to worry about
our futures.  To confuse us
with their statements and
statistics.

Graham was absolutely right
when he said that America
is a rich nation.  We have
enormous natural resources.
It is estimated that we have a
domestic supply of oil of at
least 2 TRILLION barrels of
oil, enough to meet all of the
current world's demands for
the next 800 YEARS!  Our
supply of natural gas is
about 2,000 years worth!

Coal, iron, copper, wood
and fresh water are abun-
dant!  Americans are the
most productive people on
the planet!  The average wor-
ker here produces more
goods and services than in
any other nation.  The Ameri-
can farmer produces more
food per acre than anyone
else.

Our unemployment rate, na-
tionally, is within the post-
WW2 average of 5.5%.  Just
this past month of June, the
numbers on consumer spend-
ing showed a 4% INCREASE
over last year.  The only rea-
son that China and other na-
tions have growing economies
is because America is the
largest market for the goods
they produce!

Graham is less correct that we
have become a nation of whin-
ers. The average American is
not whining.  The average Am-
erican is working!  It's the pun-
dits and reporters of the MSM
that are the whiners!  They are
the ones who gleefully take
every opportunity to trash
America!

Be it the economy, the war in
Iraq, or any other subject, the
MSM goes out of it's way to
only report BAD NEWS!  For
nearly a year, the evidence has
supported the Bush Administra-
tion's surge of troops in Iraq to
bring about order.  Yet, the
MSM remains in a state of
denial, not airing any stories at
all.  They, instead, shift to how
the war in Afghanistan is fail-
ing.  There is rarely any mention
of the tremendous accomplish-
ments we have made in Iraq,
building schools, hospitals,
new infrastructure or how the
people of Iraq are enjoying their
newly found freedoms.

There is a very simple reason
why we have a problem here
of illegal immigrants.  It is be-
cause everybody wants to
live in America!  We are the
best place to be.  More free-
doms, more opportunities,
more of everything!  Our
economy is a strong one and
more than capable of weather-
ing short-term issues like
the current mortgage and
credit crunches.  We have
the talent and the ingenuity
to solve our problems.

Are some sectors and re-
goins hurting?  Yes, some
are.  Our auto industry, which
once dominated the world is
struggling to survive.  Manu-
facturing in general has suf-
fered as we face the new
challenges of the Global
Marketplace.  But I can
think of no other nation bet-
ter suited and equipped to
meet those challenges.  We
have the resources, the means
and the people to overcome
any obstacles.

Barack Obama, The Slum-Lord's Friend!

"The Boston Globe" ran a very
good article on June 27th by
Binyamin Applebaum. It chro-
nicled the juicy favors State
Senator Barack Obama gave
to his pals who developed
public housing projects. Most
of which have fallen into dis-
repair and are vacant, despite
loans amounting to over $150
MILLION dollars! As president,
Obama promises to create a
$500 million housing fund. One
has to wonder who might benefit
from his largess with taxpayer
money?

Antoin "Tony" Rezko, recently
convicted on numerous Federal
corruption charges, was not the
only developer who did well by
his association with Obama.
One such project, Grove Parc
Plaza, now lies 20% vacant with
it's 505 apartment units. Most of
the units are unlivable due to
damage and disrepair. Grove
Parc was managed by Habitat
Corporation, who's CEO is none
other than Valerie Jarrett. Not
only is she the current head of
Obama's finance committe, it
was Jarrett who gave Michelle
Obama her first public payroll
job, serving as Jarrett's assis-
tant under former Chicago
Mayor, Harold Washington.

Barack later paid back Jarrett
when as chairman of the State
Health and Human Services
Committe, approved her appoint-
ment to the Illinois Health Plan-
ning Board. It was this board
which allocated funds for various
healthcare and hospital develop-
ments using money from
sources such as the Illinois
Teachers Pension Fund. One
such project was the Howard
Hospital development, which
led to the Federal investigation
in 2003, known as 'Operation
Board Games' which is unra-
velling the 'pay-to-play' scheme
of corrupt Illinois officials and
private developers, such as
Rezko.

Jarrett later paid Obama back
for the appointment when, as
an executive for the University
of Chicago Medical Center,
gave Michelle a pay raise from
$115,000 a year to over
$300,000 a year! It sure is nice
to have friends, isn't it! Grove
Parc was seized by the Fed-
eral government in 2006 after
city inspectors found it ripe
with problems.

Grove Parc was created by
in the 1990 by Allison Davis,
Obama's former boss of the
law firm from which Obama
worked as a "community or-
ganizer". Davis has developed
many projects, using govern-
ment loans and subsidies,
about 1500 units in all. Most
of these, also, have been cited
by inspectors as having defein-
cies, such as chronic plumbing
problems. Some apartments
had raw sewage in them! NICE!

Rezko, Davis and Jarrett, were
all supporters of State Senator
Obama, raising hundreds of
thousands of dollars for his
campaigns. Collectively, they
gave him $175,000 of their own
money, if it really was their
own money. LOL!

Another of Obama's contri-
butors is Cecil Butler, another
developer. He controlled
Lawnsdale Restoration,
Chicago's largest single sub-
sidized residential complex. In
2006, the government seized
it after inspectors found some
1,800 code violations!

It was Barack Obama who,
once getting elected to the
Illinois State Senate, paid back
his contributing friends in the
development industry by getting
a law passed in 2001 to permit
private, for-profit, companies to
manage public housing projects.
Prior to his election, while
working for Davis, Obama
helped represent non-profit
companies which ran housing
projects. One such company
was Woodlawn Preservation
and Investment Corp., which
was being sued for inadequate
heating for it's tenants. I guess
"community organizer" means
organizing the slumlords, I
mean landlords, instead of the
tenants. LOL! Later on, Wood-
lawn's CEO, William
Moorehead, was convicted for
embezzling $1,000,000.
Guess who took over Wood-
lawn's properties to manage?
Habitat Corporation!

Rezko's firm, Rezmar Corp,
received some $87 million
dollars since 1989 in govern-
ment loans, subsidies and
tax credits. Davis' company
got over $100 million dollars,
including $1,000,000 from
the Woods Fund of Chicago,
the non-profit organization
that both Obama and former
Weatherman-terrorist, Bill
Ayers served on their board
of directors. Butler's firm has
earned some $73 million
dollars in public funds and tax
credits. How much Habitat
was gotten remains unclear,
but as most of the other de-
velopers who benefited know-
ing Obama only managed
perhaps 1,000 to 2,000 hous-
ing units, Habitat manages
some 23,000!

So, what we have here is a
new breed of politician. One
who believes in change and
hope. One who will bring
about a new era in honest
government. NOT!!!
What we have here is classic
political corruption - Chicago
Style!

The New Oil Crisis, Part 2

King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia
said Tuesday, that, "Consum-
er countries have to adapt to
the prices and the mechan-
isms of the market."  In other
words, get used to higher
prices!  He also said, "We
have nothing to do with the
current sharp increase in
crude prices."  He went on
to blame speculation, ris-
ing demand and taxation of
oil products.  He suggested,
"These countries must reduce
their taxes on fuel..., if they
want to contribute to easing
the burden on ordinary con-
sumers."

Here, here, King!  The cur-
rent price gouging is not
their fault, but our own
government's!  There are
several reasons for this.
You may recall that when
both Hillary Clinton and
John McCain proposed a
gas tax holiday, Obama
and a chorus of media
pundits ridiculed the idea,
saying that it would have
little impact on prices.

I say let's go one step fur-
ther.  The Federal govern-
ment should declare a
oil-royalty holiday!  About
a quarter of the price we
pay for oil is handed over
to Washington!  Talk about
a method of providing some
immediate relief on us poor
consumers!

Most of the pundits and
Obama supporters are
also critical of calls to
open up new territories
for drilling.  They cite that
it would take 10 years
before one drop of gasoline
would be available.  Some
now even say 30 years!

The truth is that we have
enormous deposits of
domestic oil.  Plenty e-
nough to become inde-
pendent.  Certainly more
than enough to cause the
price of oil to drop like a
rock.  The time scale does
vary, depending on the loca-
tion.  A typical off-shore oil
rig can begin pumping oil
from a 10,000 foot well in
55 DAYS after the platform's
pilings are set!

While there is much ballyhoo
about ANWR, the fact is we
have other sources on the
Alaskan North Slope, some
of which have ALREADY
been drilled!  Gull Island is
just one example.  Three
wells were drilled and then
capped in the 1970s.  It is
estimated that not only is
there double the oil of Prudhoe
Bay there, but also a 200
YEAR supply of natural
gas.  It would only take a
good year or so to begin
piping to down to us!

Why are we not pumping
this known oil and gas?
Money and Politics.  As I
wrote yesterday, we need
the political leadership who
will make the changes that
are necessary for us to have
a national policy for achiev-
ing energy security.  Obama
is certainly not the CHANGE
who will provide us with that,
and, so far, McCain is only
a lukewarm substitute.

As the King said, we all bet-
ter get used to paying more
at the pump.  Maybe in 2012,
we'll have some
REAL CHANGE!!!
